Right to receive your DPC and prescribed information within 30 days

Your landlord (or letting agent) must provide you with a Deposit Protection Certificate and certain other ‘prescribed information’ within 30 days of receiving your deposit, by law. They should also give you a chance to review and sign the information.

If they have failed to provide you with the complete information, or have been late in sending this to you, you may demand they pay you compensation between one and three times the deposit amount. Click ‘enforce this right’ for our simple guide on how.
