CribAdvisor has been developed to improve the standard of student tenancies across the UK. Before choosing who to let with, students can browse different types of providers, check out important details, and see what their tenants say about them. During their tenancy, they can understand their rights and how to enforce them.
The standard of your accommodation provider can have a huge impact on the enjoyability of your tenancy. See what other students are saying to help you make the right decision.
Find a ProviderYou may know your provider isn’t totally by the book, but how do you know if they have broken any laws? See what your rights are and use our simple guides on how to enforce them.
Your RightsCribAdvisor is a project for the entire student renting community to get involved in. Whether you’re a student sharing your renting experience with a provider on our site, or an accommodation provider using our feedback to improve the service to your tenants, you can be sure the student population will benefit from your involvement!
If you’re a student, leave a review and share your renting experience with our visitors. Our reviews are all anonymous and take less than five minutes.
Review Your ProviderIf you’re a student accommodation provider, apply to be featured on our site or claim your listing. We feature letting agents, landlords, and private halls providers.

Contact UsWe are a group of students, experienced in the poor standard of service the student letting agents of Lincoln keep getting away with. Whilst up against our assignment deadlines, we were battling with our letting agent over no hot water, surprise visits, and unprotected deposits. We weren’t surprised that this is a common experience for other students too, whether they rented with a letting agent, landlord, or a student halls provider, but we were surprised that there is no way for us to warn each other.
We have provided a platform for the student community to share their experiences with the student accommodation providers (good and bad!), to allow other students to make an informed choice before they sign their tenancy agreement. And, after our own success fighting our letting agent for the return of our deposits and even being awarded compensation for poor practice, we wanted to show others how to do the same after things do go wrong.
